The good, bad & ugly
Lately I’m finding it hard to write anything positive. I know I can be quite negative on this blog sometimes, and that’s usually because I write about things that upset me or that I just don’t grasp about this country or the culture….the dark pit of frustration! And even though this will not be the most up-beat thing I’ve posted on here, it is something positive….in a way. It is boxing day today Since boxing day is not a day with a special name in Holland, to me it’s “the 2nd day of Christmas”….for all of you that don’t do Christmas; it is the last Sunday of the year 2010. And a beautiful day it was! a few weeks ago I had committed myself to join a Didim charity event and today that day came. A large group of Turks and foreign expats did a sponsor swim for the “Didim friends of animals association” which basically runs a dog/cat shelter here …….Then what happened?…
